Matt Whitehead is an experienced civil litigator and trial attorney, having represented numerous individuals of diverse backgrounds, local businesses, local government, and some of the nation's largest corporations in both state court and federal court. Matt now focuses almost exclusively on helping individuals and their families in personal injury, catastrophic loss and complex litigation matters throughout the state. South Carolina born and raised, Matt attended the Honors College at the University of South Carolina and the UofSC School of Law, where he served on the Law Review. After graduating in 2005, Matt began his career as a litigation attorney in Greenville, South Carolina. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the South Carolina Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, and National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys and has completed the SCDTAA's Trial Academy. He has been named one of South Carolina's Rising Stars Super Lawyers for Personal Injury and has received the most votes for Greenville Business Magazine's Legal Elite in Personal Injury three of the past four years. Matt’s education and experience provides unique and valuable insight into how insurance companies and defense firms approach the litigation process. This allows Matt to work closely with his clients in protecting their legal rights from the initial claim stage through trial. More than anything, Matt says he enjoys helping people cope in a one-sided system. These are often people who are in a bad situation through no fault of their own, whether it’s a car accident, an injury or worse. Matt and his wife have three children, including a set of twins. They enjoy cooking out, the great outdoors, sports and travel.
