Charged me 3000$ for a divorce amd said it will be done before next month is over. I thought 3k to get divorced in a month is good, but 3k to get divorced in 4 months is not nearly as good of a a deal as sI was promised. It was an unopposed divorce with no assets or children to split. They got it done but if they make promises or estimates like the one above over a call, insist that they include them in writing on the agreement you sign and you will see how much "good faith" is in their good faith estimate.
Misinterpretation of documents, Failure to email me pertinent and promised documents, rampant GHOSTING, soothing answers with NO SUBSTANCE. The reviews on Facebook looked amazing and I was fooled. AVOID! Salesman more than lawyer.
Seeing that others have filed complaints against him with the bar and won makes me wish I had. The trauma of rehashing what is already a traumatic situation is probably what has saved his practice from dozens of malpractice suits. He’s unresponsive. Unprepared. Unprofessional. I retained another lawyer after his complete disregard for my case and incompetence almost caused the case to be closed by the state for inaction. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY. Unless you need him to lie and get you out of a dui - claiming you were tired. He rolled into a mediation that he hadn’t prepared me for at all - bragging about a case in Anderson county he’d won after proving (wink wink) that his client was only tired not drinking. Emails for itemized bills went ignored. And I’m sure most of the retainer I paid, that he claimed I had used was utter BS. Literally any lawyer in the upstate is better. But GOOGLE your counsel before retaining them. Guys who defend cops that shoot at unarmed kids
I hired this attorney in April of 2019. I wrote him a check for $9500.00 as a retainer for a divorce. The next day I called his office to stop any work immediately. He did not call back. after several months of calling without any reply, I filed a complaint with the SC Bar Assoc. and after 2-3 months I received my retainer less the sum he charged me for his office staff to print out computer generated forms. I won my case with the Bar and would not refer him to anyone. BUYER BEWARE! Sharon M. Doyle
I 'released John' in family court after 3 months, losing my $4,500 retainer, but saving well over $30,000, in assets and alimony, at the FINAL HEARING. He is neither diligent or competent, and will only follow 'HIS' own agenda. If you want someone who won't listen, or prepare you for court, and won't call you back, then he's your 'esquire'. As typical slime ball lawyers go, he's 5 star+++, and he's rigged the ratings also!
