About Louis Di Filippo

Louis Di Filippo is an attorney supporting the firm in personal injury, workers’ compensation, and mass torts. He joined the Ward Black Law family in 2024.

Louis received his undergraduate degree in Economics Cum Laude from NC State University in 2021. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law where he graduated Summa Cum Laude near the top of his class. While in law school, Louis was an executive board member of the University of Baltimore Law Review, and he worked at a mid-sized firm practicing personal injury for nearly two years. During his second summer in Baltimore, he worked at one of the oldest law firms in Maryland where he practiced insurance defense in both personal injury and workers’ compensation. Louis finished his law school career working for a nationally recognized mass torts practice that ultimately connected him with Ward Black Law. Louis believes his experience serving clients on “both sides of the ‘v’” equips him with knowledge not only of how to succeed for his clients but also how the defense will operate.

A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Louis is the youngest of five and the only one in his family to enter the legal profession. After multiple injuries ended his dreams of playing collegiate sports, Louis was inspired by a professor at NC State to pursue a career in law.

On the weekends you will find Louis riding his motorcycle, watching sports, trying new restaurants, or spending time with his family. His favorite book is Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl, and he lives by Frankl’s words “when we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
