Clifford & Harris, PLLC was founded in 1973 by R.Walton McNairy and Locke T. Clifford, classmates at the UNC School of Law, Class of 1967. Locke Clifford retired in 2021 following 50+ years of distinguished practice, having been the second ever recepient of the Wade Smith Award awarded by the North Carolina bar for the best criminal defense attorneys in the state/hall of fame.
Today attorneys Andrew Clifford and Daniel Harris carry on that legacy of high-caliber criminal defense work that Locke was known for. In 2022, attorney Andrew Clifford won multiple state court jury trials and numerous DWI not guilty verdict or dismissals in district court. In 2022 Attorney Harris joined a very small group of practicing attorneys to have received a Not Guilty verdict in a federal criminal jury trial in the Middle District of North Carolina.
