Hired Attorney

I would not recommend this attorney for anyone. Derrick Willis said all the right words to get my trust but did not follow through with anything he promised. He told me I had a strong case against a prominent political figure in the area regarding fraudulent practices in a real estate transaction. I had all necessary documents in hand and in order. Derrick held my documents for over 8 months and did not pursue a case at all. He even made a choice to call the daughter ( who is an attorney herself) of the man I had a case against to ask her opinion on a potential outcome and possible settlement of the case he had not filed! Breach of attorney/ client confidentiality. Derrick took a $2500 retainer and kept me strung along. His communication was horrible. Meetings we scheduled were cut short each time for what he claimed was emergency meetings at the courthouse. He stated that he would return part of my retainer fee but did not.
