Hired Kain and Burke for a divorce proceeding. First meeting the lawyer was incredibly smug and made fun of my exwife's lawyer and her evidence filings. I had a feeling then and there I would lose, but confidence is key so what the heck. On the day of the hearing the lawyer had an EMPTY legal pad. No questions thought out beforehand, no notes. I new it didn't look good, but I had the truth on my side so it didn't matter. I asked why a note from my ex wasn't entered as evidence and he told me it made me look bad. I noticed very quickly how unprepared he was and in cross examination he asked her about the note that he didn't enter into evidence. Well, now with no physical proof of what the note said, my ex made up whatever she wanted. He didn't ask her any questions of substance and while I was on the stand didn't direct his questions into an decent defense. I lost... surprised? Plus he interviewed 3 witnesses for less than 1 hour each... $6500. DO NOT HIRE KAIN AND BURKE
