Mr. McCandless is an extremely trustworthy and effective attorney. He represented me when no attorney would in a case that saved my life. He was consistently communicative and displayed wise logical reasoning like no other attorney I met. In fact, my case was of a type that only about 5% of attorneys win. Also, my daughter was inspired to become a lawyer due to how Mr. McCandless handled my case. His win enabled me to financially support her, as without it, she wouldn’t be a lawyer today.
Attorney McCandless, and I use attorney lightly, handled my case in around 2001. I was struck by a car as a pedestrian, through no fault of my own. Mr. McCandless, who was suing Nationwide Insurance on my behalf, turned out to have worked FOR Nationwide Insurance in the past. When I was under surveillance and told him, his assistant wanted to send a letter to find out if Nationwide had ordered it. McCandless wouldn't let him, telling him it wasn't necessary! When the trial began there was a mistrial when the judge mentioned the word "insurance" because the jury wasn't supposed to know I wasn't suing the individual himself who hit me. After the mistrial the jury wanted to ask questions and Mccandless kept me sitting there in extreme pain while he played it up answering questions, none of which he answered favorably to me! I decided right then to just settle. He "negotiated" and got me $50,000 which he took half of. So for $25,000 I am still disabled, now poor, in constant pain.
