Mr. Senuty attended Stanford University, where he was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in history, with distinction. He received his juris doctor from Stanford Law School. Mr. Senuty was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1975 and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central and Northern Districts of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Since joining the firm and becoming a Director, Mr. Senuty formed and developed the firm’s Insurance Coverage Group and is the senior member of that group. He has broad experience in insurance coverage analysis, declaratory relief and bad faith litigation, and appellate practice in state and federal courts. Mr. Senuty is a specialist in the drafting, interpretation and providing claims handling advice for claims under insurance policies of all kinds, including automobile, homeowners, watercraft, commercial general liability, commercial auto, fidelity bonds, crop insurance, aviation insurance, professional liability, directors & officers and security brokers errors & omissions coverages, and primary and excess policies. He has authored hundreds of coverage opinions and has evaluated the sufficiency of coverages procured for businesses and individuals to cover the risks to which they are exposed.
Mr. Senuty has frequently conducted seminars for attorneys and insurance company claims personnel on insurance coverage issues, settlement strategies, and claims practices, as well as on legal and insurance ethics. Mr. Senuty has served as an expert consultant and witness on insurance coverage, claims practices and legal malpractice issues.
Mr. Senuty is a member the American Bar Association (section on torts and insurance practice), the Defense Research Institute, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the Council on Litigation Management. He is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. Mr. Senuty was selected for the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Southern California Super Lawyers list for the insurance coverage practice area.
