Mr. Smith seemed very nice at first seemed dedicated to the case, i now feel like he was only dedicated because he knew he could win. He won 2/3 of my cases and appealed the second. Never told me of a charge for the appeal made it seem like it was included in the payment agreed on. Years later i realized the appealed case was never closed just stayed open and now you can only see the first guilty plead even after we went to court and it was thrown out. I reached out to the office to let them know something isn’t right I was assured this would get taken care of. After about two weeks of no communication Mr.Smith told me this has nothing to do with him and when he appealed it he was only doing a favor for me because he felt sorry for me (never told this at the time, it was never presented as a favor). He told me to call the governor if i didn’t like his answer and he bets the governor won’t help me either. Unprofessional and does not know how to talk to people, and does a half a** job
Mr. Patrick M Smith performed none of the usual and expected duties of a custody lawyer. He would not use witnesses to make my case stronger, or even use any of the information furnished to him such as journal entries, pictures of abuse, etc... I was later told by numerous family law attorneys that they have no idea how I lost my case other then the fact that Mr. Smith acted in "bad faith," and I had been misrepresented. The worst part, he tried charging me double! Beware...
My son in law hired this “attorney” to have me a 72 year old disabled widow evicted from my home that my now deceased husband helped to purchase and my husband was on the deed as joint owner. After his death I resumed paying on the mortgage. Mr Smith was not aware of my circumstances and further more I called him to tell him he was not told everything by his client, my son in law. Mr Smith was very gruff and had no interpersonal skills. He told me “I just do what I’m told” what a sarcastic unethical thing to say. I told him he must be very unhappy spending time doing what people tell him to do. For an attorney to take a case against his wife’s mother may be legal but highly immoral.
He was not aware of the "Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act of 2009," or "cash for keys" - which is easily googled. He was not in the least bit helpful on tenant rights. He just told me to move. He spent less than 10 minutes with me. It was a complete waste of my time.
