David P. Putzi, Esq. is consistently recognized by his peers as a preeminent criminal defense attorney, evidenced by his numerous awards from Super Lawyers of Maryland, Top Attorney’s of Baltimore Magazine and Leading Lawyers of Anne Arundel County. Mr. Putzi focuses his practice on representing individuals charged with criminal, traffic and juvenile offenses, as well as quasi-criminal matters such as protective & peace orders and administrative hearings.
Mr. Putzi possesses vast trial experience, appearing every day in the Maryland courts to defend his clients. Many of the thousands of cases that he has defended are high profile matters that you have either seen on television or read about in the newspaper. Previously, Mr. Putzi worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Maryland responsible for prosecuting a wide variety of cases, receiving specialized training in drug offenses, sexual offenses, juvenile matters and DUI field sobriety testing.
Mr. Putzi is a past President of the Anne Arundel Bar Association and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the AABA. Mr. Putzi served as the chair the Criminal Law Committee for the AABA, lecturing to other attorneys in the areas of criminal defense strategy, search and seizure issues, rules of evidence, and defending domestic violence cases. He was selected by his peers, and confirmed by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, as a member of the Trial Courts Judicial Nominating Commission responsible for selecting trial judges in Anne Arundel County.
Mr. Putzi attended The Catholic University School of Law. He was selected to the Editorial Board of The Catholic University Law Review. Upon graduation from law school, he served as the judicial law clerk for Judge Raymond G. Thieme in the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.
