Jonathan Sumrell is an associate in the firm's corporate practice group. His practice focuses on corporate matters within health care law, including employment and medical staff matters. Mr. Sumrell assist clients in drafting and revising Medical Staff Bylaws and related documents, physician employment agreements, employee policies and procedures, and other operational policies. Mr. Sumrell also advises healthcare entities on transactional matters, such as corporate compliance, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. He handles federal and state litigation for all varieties of health care related disputes.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Sumrell completed a clerkship with the Circuit Court of Henrico County, Virginia. While in law school, Mr. Sumrell was Manuscripts Editor for the Richmond Journal of Law and the Public Interest, was elected as a Justice of the Honor Council, and was a member of the Client Counseling and Negotiation Board. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sumrell served as a deputy press secretary for a U.S. Senator.
