Shawn is truly one of the most honest and educated lawyers I have ever come in contact with.
She handled a very complex and high tension case with confidence ensuring the law was properly enforced. I am honored to be her client she never gave up. Shawn guaranteed my child's safety and defended my family's the best interest.
If I could give her a negative I would - she was the absolute worst attorney I’ve ever come in contact with. She was beyond rude and tried to belittle you. When you pushed back she didn’t like it and eventually fired me. Which was a blessing for me because I was able to hire an attorney that was able to get the job done! Shawn refused to give me my file and wanted to charge me 1.00 a page for something I already paid for! I should have brought up in front of the ODC on multiple occasions for her actions or lack thereof. She was useless to me and didn’t work for what she charged. Never followed thru with anything & you had to constantly follow-up with her. She was ready to throw in the towel and not fight because that required her to work for her fees. Divorce is hard enough & your legal representative shouldn’t make things worse. If I wanted to be abused by anyone I would have stayed married. Read her reviews before you consider retaining her - you’ll be glad you did!
My experience with Shawn Dougherty has not been pleasant. During the time that I had her representing me, I never really felt she was on my side, or in my best interest – which is literally what I was paying her to do. 1. She always seemed to be in favor of the other party. 2. She would show unprofessionalism towards me in front of the other party. 3. She basically used my winnings as retainer. 4. Poor communication. At the end of the day, it’s all about the money for her, she’s made that quite clear. She doesn’t care about the case. Listen to me, listen to the other reviewers, because what we’re saying is valid. Get a lawyer that actually cares about your case.
Very rude and condescending. Never could remember my case or what was discussed. I am very shocked that I paid so much money and she treated me with no respect. She seems afraid of going in front of the judge because she would talk me into agreements that I was not comfortable with but I trusted her. Very nasty woman.
Would not recommend her to my worst enemy. Does not complete cases for quoted price, very expensive and not patient with clients that have never dealt with going through divorce. Critical of clients, rude, very unprofessional. Left my case without finishing, now have to go to another attorney to actually get all work completed, after paying her a small fortune. Seems like a very angry woman..Seriously consider another attorney before getting snared by her...
