Andrew Butzen is committed to protecting employee rights and has extensive experience representing workers in court and arbitration. His practice covers discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, and other employment-related claims. On a daily basis, he manages all phases of employment litigation, from initial client intake through drafting complaints, building discovery, seeking and enforcing discovery orders, arguing hearings, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial. Known for a relentless litigation style, Mr. Butzen has helped secure multiple favorable results for Cummings & Franck clients, including several seven-figure settlements. He earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, graduating in the top 3% of his class, and received five CALI awards for the highest grades in his courses. In law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the UIC Review of Intellectual Property Law and held a leadership role on the Moot Court Executive Board. Before law, Mr. Butzen was a decorated classical guitarist and earned a master’s degree in music from USC’s Thornton School of Music. He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University, where he dedicated 400+ hours to serving people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. He lives in Pasadena with his wife and, outside work, enjoys history and plays in an adult baseball league.
