Lora H. Cleary

Hiring Lora was the best thing I could have done. She was very straightforward and gave me good advice along the way. She was able to get me to see the big picture and down the line and not just the "little" things that I got stuck on. I would recommend her to any one who is going through a difficult time. She will make you feel important and that you aren't just a number.

I was so hopeful upon my initial meeting with lora. But it became quickly apparent that she was far more interested in preserving her working relationships with her fellow family court swamp monsters than she was in doing right by my son. While he was being extremely, aggressively alienated by his father (and all his flying monkeys), she not only missed every single flashing marquee sign of alienation and abuse, but fed into and exacerbated it. She only spoke with my son while he was in the care of the alienating parent so he was never able to speak freely, and put my son in the care of a neglectful abuser. My son showed EVERY sign of clear distress-sudden failing grades, fights at school, aggression and anger issues, etc, and she either failed to see it, or she valued her professional relationships more than doing her JOB as his “advocate”. As a GAL, if you can’t pick up on the CLEAR signs of abuse and alienation, you have NO business being a child advocate. Shame on you.

She is a court swamp dweller. She unfortunately was appointed Guardian ad Litem for my children in my divorce case. She is unabashedly very biased against fathers. When I would point out her unfairness, she would tell me to be quiet. She dragged the case on and on; boosting her fees of course. I demanded a court appointed psychologist review. Court agreed and I was eventually proven correct. And, after she was proven wrong, she never apologized. She just kept billing me through all of it. She is horrible and dangerous.

Cleary is now a magistrate in Fairfield county Ohio where she continues her vendetta against men. She has illegally and unethically allowed my children to be kept from me for almost a year. Continued corruption and maliciously withholding evidence both my children were hospitalized by their mothers drug use. She should be disbarred for life

Absolutely the worst GIL! Completely bias and pro mothers. Involved in a major custody dispute after child’s mother up and left the date with my autistic son. Even though mom was in contempt of court for taking son across state lines to crappy town in MA with a crappy school system, Lora felt it would be too hard for him to come back to OH after three months, and he would get a great education there too. Fast forward 17 years, I remarried and had another son with autism. Son in crappy MA lives in government housing with minimal skills and was alienated from me, and other son graduated with honors and is attending college this fall. Great job Lora.

If you are reading this review looking for your own attorney to defend you I assure you that there is definitely another attorney that will do a much better job than this woman will do. It seems that most of her work is as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem. I have an autistic non-verbal child that I am a single mother to and this attorney made a decision without even knowing what school my child went to, she spoke to ZERO family members and spent a total of twenty minutes with in a year and a half. When she did do our brief home visit she wanted to talk about other clients such as multiple doctors at children’s hospital which is very unprofessional and inappropriate. Columbus is a saturated market with multiple great law firms and I can guarantee this is NOT one of them! I promise that you will be highly disappointed in your decision.

Lora Cleary is quite friendly as is her staff, however if you are looking for a GAL Dads, save your money! Lora was appointed to me in 2013 (at my request) after I was once again accused of a crime that I did not commit in Fairfield county by my EX Wife. Trying to convince an ALL Woman court system is like talking to a wall, add in a female Guardian and as a man, you are not going to win. The system is set up for men to fail. Lora backed my EX with the following history: Fraud, Repossession, Bankruptcy, 15 false police reports, my daughter for the last 3 school years has a 45% absenteeism rate, 2 truancy acts that I know of. My Ex lives off the taxpayers and does not work. She has now accused me of more things but landed herself in the psychiatric ward at a local hospital after reporting a fake rape to the police. This is who Lora thinks is the better parent. Me? Steady employed and not so much as a parking ticket. There is no benefit if Lora is appointed to your case.

Lora "represented" my children in a custody settlement. She not only spent virtually NO time actually in the presence of my children, but openly admitted my ex-spouse was abusive. Despite that, her subsequent recommendation was that we split custody since my ex would most likely just be abusive towards me. Later discovered my son's teachers had repeatedly expressed concern for his well being with his father, did not speak with a single person I listed. She did NOTHING but send bills.

After years of interacting with Lora, I felt that her representation was bias and not complete. She made many personal comments that clearly showed she was not making decisions from an objective stand point. She openly reprimanded one side but never the other, even when the other party was clearly in direct contempt of court. She also was clearly lacking knowledge in visible parental alienation, even after several examples were shown to her.

Lora Cleary is horrible. She is dishonest, lazy and disorganized. She promises services she does not provide and then lies about providing them. She charges money for things she does not actually do too. Use her at your own peril!
