Raquel brings more than a decade of experience at ERISA Law Center, where she began as a paralegal and grew into her role as an attorney. She focuses her practice on helping people secure the disability, health, and life insurance benefits owed under employer-sponsored plans, and she’s known for guiding clients through a system that can feel needlessly complicated. Her work is backed by a strong academic record, including the John Loomis Legacy Medal of Distinction, the San Joaquin College of Law Founders’ Scholarship, the Leon S. Peters Foundation Leadership Award, top moot court brief awards, and multiple Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence. Raquel also stays engaged in advocacy and education, serving as a panelist on LGBTQ+ awareness and participating in community-focused seminars and discussions. She is active in pro bono efforts such as senior law clinics and naturalization application workshops. In the community, she serves in leadership roles with the Fresno Reel Pride LGBTQ+ Film Festival and on the Board of Directors for the Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District.
