Michael L. Detzky has spent more than 47 years advocating for clients in consumer and business bankruptcy, immigration and naturalization, and real estate matters. He established his law office in 1983 with the promise, *“A lawyer who listens and a counselor who cares,”* and went on to serve over 15 years on the private panel of Chapter 7 trustees for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey. He is the ONLY attorney practicing bankruptcy law in Freehold who has had the experience of serving as a Chapter 7 trustee who can bring that experience and background to your case. His insight has been shared through lectures for the U.S. Navy, New Jersey State Bar Association, and Monmouth County Bar Association, reflecting his broad knowledge in bankruptcy and immigration law.
A graduate of Rutgers College (Highest Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, 1975) and Rutgers Law School (1978), Detzky draws on the Navy core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment from his 30-year career as a Reserve JAG officer, retiring as a captain in 2013. Admitted to multiple state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York, as well as the Third Circuit and U.S. Court of Criminal Appeals for the Armed Forces, he has authored legal publications and frequently appears as a FOX News legal commentator.
