I reached out to this attorney based on recommendations to work with a Frederick-based lawyer for my divorce, particularly given the financial disparity between my former spouse and me. During our initial consultations and for months afterward, I was assured that pursuing perpetual alimony was a realistic outcome based on my situation. I felt strung along because she assured me that my spouse would pay all attorney's fees including her own. However, the final result was disappointing as I did not receive any alimony at all, and I felt pressured to agree to a lump-sum settlement. My spouse didn't even pay the legal bills as she promised. This was not the outcome I had been led to expect.
Prospective clients should ask how a litigation strategy impacts net financial outcomes. In my case, rejecting a negotiated buyout when the home was valued at $370k led to an eventual sale at $285k, with substantially lower net proceeds after fees and payoff. Beware of Tom Weschler. His actions demonstrate a reckless disregard for the safety and well-being of children, which is alarming given the influence and power he wields in his profession. This is not someone who can be trusted to act responsibly or ethically, especially in matters that demand care and accountability. If you value integrity and the protection of vulnerable individuals, look elsewhere. Entrusting him with any case involving the welfare of others could have dangerous consequences.
