Jim Gordon is a civil trial and transactional attorney with over 43 years of experience. His practice is balanced between representation of individuals and companies in complex business and lending transactions, and dispute resolution. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and his trial practice includes business disputes over breach of contract, fraud, tortious interference with contractual relationships, unfair competition, and representation of creditors in bankruptcy court. He is also Board Certified in Construction Law and represents contractors, designers, and developers in commercial and governmental construction projects. He is experienced in negotiation and administration of construction contracts and resolution of construction disputes and claims for damages caused by delay, cost overruns, incomplete and defective performance, and design failure.
After graduating from the University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Gordon was licensed to practice in Texas in 1976, and has been in private practice in Fort Worth since 1987. He is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell®. He formerly served as a Director of the Tarrant County Bar Association and as a Director and President of Dispute Resolution Services of Tarrant County. He currently serves on the Advisory Council of the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center of Fort Worth. Mr. Gordon has four children and three grandchildren, and is married to his law partner, Karen Gordon.
