Marc is very knowledgeable, but nickel and dimed me to death. He even charged me when I asked my girlfriend to call him to see if he was interested in handling our case. There was no free consultation. Halfway thru the initial interview, he asked for $250. We told him if his fees got up to $2000, to let us know and we would make the decision whether to continue or not. He did not tell us until he got up to $3328. I did a lot of the legwork as well. Just very greedy, and somewhat arrogant.

We opted to use Mr. Lanksy over LegalZoom when creating our will. I would suggest to anyone to avoid my mistake, and establish a price up front with Mr. Lansky. He insisted that our meeting would be only a couple of hours for a will. A couple of hours turned into a 6 hr. marathon that lasted into the evening past dinner time, half of which was listening to him gassing on about his career achievements. A few weeks later we received our will along with a $3000 bill. For a basic will.

He was a terrible representative for me in this matter. He would call long distance "collect" when he wanted to contact me, even calling my girlfriend's house "collect".None of the requests I asked for were honored. I vacation once a year in South Carolina. He scheduled a mediation back in Indiana three days into my vacation. I really got no benefit at all from his representing me as a defendant in a contested will. Yet he charged me tens of thousands of dollars and made sure he was paid first.

All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
