Benjamin A. A. Russell holds a degree in Civil Engineering with an Environmental Engineering Emphasis from the University of Mississippi in 2003. During his time at the university, he was initiated as a member of Chi Epsilon, the National Civil Engineering Honor Society. His leadership skills were evident as he served as the President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and Secretary of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Benjamin was also honored with induction into the Order of the Engineer.
Following his engineering pursuits, Benjamin attended the University of Miami School of Law, graduating Cum Laude. His remarkable achievements include receiving the Kurt Marmar Award, an accolade bestowed upon him by his law school peers, recognizing him as the most well-rounded and sportsman-like advanced moot court competitor. Notably, Benjamin clinched victory in the Law School's first-year moot court competition and reached the finals in the advanced moot court competition. During his time at law school, he completed a prestigious internship with the late United States Magistrate Judge Theodore Klein of the Southern District of Florida and served as a Summer Associate at Phelps Dunbar, LLP.
In March 2011, Benjamin A.A. Russell joined Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner, Attorneys for the Injured, as a trial attorney. Before this role, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, prosecuting numerous cases in both jury and bench trials. Additionally, he held the position of Division Chief in Juvenile Circuit Court, where he trained other Assistant State Attorneys for felony jury trials and represented the State of Florida in Juvenile Drug Court. Following his work in Miami, Benjamin relocated to Tupelo, Mississippi, where he practiced civil, criminal, and family law alongside his father, Rhett Russell.
Benjamin is admitted to practice law in all the state courts of Florida, Massachusetts, and Mississippi. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. His professional affiliations include membership in the Florida Lee County Bar Association, Mississippi Lee County Bar Association, Florida Justice Association, and American Association for Justice.
Attorney Russell was ranked on the National Trial Lawyer's list of Top 100 Trial Lawyers and Top 40 Under 40.
On a personal note, Benjamin was born in Homestead, Florida, but raised in Tupelo, Mississippi. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1997. Benjamin comes from a family with a rich legal tradition, including his father, two uncles, and two first cousins who are attorneys. His wife, Jaime Generazzo, who is also an attorney, met Benjamin while studying law in Barcelona, Spain. She currently holds the position of Professor of Research, Writing, and Advocacy at a local law school. Benjamin and Jaime are proud parents of two children.
