John Wien is a seasoned litigation attorney with nearly three decades of trial and courtroom experience spanning public, private, and corporate sectors. His practice centers on defending insureds and businesses against claims in product liability, automobile, commercial, liquor liability, construction defect, and premises liability matters. In addition, he represents municipalities and law enforcement agencies in federal and state court.
Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, John served as the Chief Litigation Counsel for the City of Hollywood, Florida, where he managed the city’s Litigation Division. His tenure included handling high-stakes cases involving premises liability, automobile liability, employment law, pension disputes, and Section 1983 liability.
John’s career also spans significant roles in insurance defense and private practice. He litigated premises liability, automobile liability, property, construction defect, and product liability cases for several insurance carriers, where he tried more than 30 jury trials to verdict. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in Sarasota, Florida, prosecuting over 50 jury trials and 200 bench trials.
He earned his juris doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida. John is admitted to the Florida Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
