Mr. Nivin was very patient and a good listener. His calm manner helped me stay calm and I will always remember Mr. Nivin with gratitude.

This is the first time I EVER write a review. Joe was recommended by a very close friend. He advised me the process on a child custody case would take approx. 2 years. He went out of his way to keep my costs down. Seven months later I was awarded full custody of my little girl. Joe Nivin cared and saved her life. Call him for honesty in this tumultuous legal war zone.
Mr. Nivin is very responsive and kind, a rare find in an attorney. His advice was on point and he won the case.
Mr. Joseph Nivin and his associate Maria Ameen are unethical and are reprehensible. They were supposed to serve the person I was getting a protection order, but they never did. The Judge wanted to serve the person injuring me thru the Sheriff but they refused the Judge and requested a process server instead. The person injuring me was never, ever served. If I went to court myself, the person would have definitely been served with the Sheriff. Instead, Joseph Nivin and Maria Ameen said they would use a processing server. Joseph Nivin and Maria Ameen lied to me repeatedly. They told me my hearing would be converted to virtual without a doubt and yet it was never converted to virtual. It was like Joseph Nivin and Maria Ameen were sabotaging me. They charged me $4,500.00 and I got no service, and they made things substantially worse for me. Mr. Joseph Nivin kept insisting I give him more and more money while his legal representation was abysmal and totally counterproductive.
Mr Nivin is a terrible lawyer. The other reviews are fake. He dragged my case on longer than it needed to be so he could continue to bill me. Additionally he was friends with opposing counsel and once I terminated his services he told opposing counsel information that I told him as my attorney while he represented me. This is privileged information even after you terminate an attorney it is not supposed to be divulged. Opposing counsel tried to use that information against me. I had to pay another attorney a lot of money to fight what he did off. I finally found a good lawyer who resolved my case the first month I hired him. I was with Nivin a few years as he billed me.
