Gerald (Jerry) White has been representing clients exclusively in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases since 1982 and is a Certified Legal Specialist in Bankruptcy Law, certified by The California Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California since 2005 (1 of approximately 145 in the entire State of California.) Jerry graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1976, and from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, with a Juris Doctor in 1979. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1979, and to the United States District Courts, Eastern and Northern Districts of California, in 1982.
Jerry is an active member of the State Bar of California, the Sacramento County Bar Association, and the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum. He served as a member of the Sacramento Bankruptcy Court Clerk’s Advisory Committee for 6 years, during which he co-produced a training program for the Clerk’s staff, and co-authored portions of the Clerk’s public information booklet. Jerry has been asked to serve as a speaker for many continuing education programs provided by the Sacramento County Bar Association and the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum, and has been selected by the Chief Bankruptcy Judges of the Eastern District of California, Sacramento Division, to participate as a delegate in and speak at several of the annual Judicial Conferences of the U. S. District Court, Eastern District of California.
On April 26, 2002, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys awarded Jerry with the designation, “Champion of the Order of Protectors of Consumer Debtors in Recognition of and Appreciation for the Extraordinary Contribution You Have Made to the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys in the Fight to Preserve Basic Rights for Consumer Debtors in Bankruptcy”.
Jerry has also been awarded the AV-Preeminent (highest) peer rating from Martindale-Hubbell “which identifies a lawyer with the highest level of professional excellence.”
