About Joseph Ranni, Esq.

Joseph Ranni is dedicated to protecting individual rights and helping clients achieve effective legal solutions. Since beginning his legal career in the New York City metro area in 1987, he has focused on employment and disability litigation in state and federal courts while also serving as a NYS Certified Nursing Home Ombudsman. Inspired by the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act in the 1990s, Mr. Ranni recognized a connection between disability and elder law. Guided by the principles of least restrictive living environments, self-facilitation, and reasonable accommodation, he shaped his practice around advocating for these rights, regardless of age, disability, or circumstance.

Admitted to practice law in New York, Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Mr. Ranni is also a former Presiding Justice for the Town of Chester, NY. His approach prioritizes client goals and future needs, focusing beyond disabilities to achieve tailored solutions. Recognized as a Top Attorney in Upstate New York and a Super Lawyer for professional achievement and peer recognition by Thomson-Reuters, he continues to build a reputation for excellence. Committed to his community, Mr. Ranni volunteers with non-profit committees, civic organizations, and advocacy groups, providing pro bono legal services across the region.

Joe is BRILLIANT. He came highly recommended by a longtime friend. From the start, he and his legal assistant, Antoinette, were always very accessible and responsive. Their office has a high level of communication on all fronts and kept us informed. He remembered every little detail of our ongoing, extremely layered and complicated Article 81 Adult Guardianship case without missing a beat. His knowledge in this aspect of the law is unsurpassed. He prepared us for court and built our confidence. When things got dark, scary and confusing, a short (or sometimes very long) talk with Joe always brought an overwhelming feeling of relief. He was aggressive and passionate. He fought hard. Because of Joseph Ranni, our family member is now happy and we know he'll always be safe. Joe is an honorable man and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend him to anyone I know.

Highly DO NOT recommend. He worked on an intense guardianship case for us. Not only did he treat me like was nothing, he also emailed me in the middle of the night to do the same. The judge didn't understand why JOE RANNI did not file PAPERVWORK within a 20 day period as agreed in court 11/14/23. For months asked why this wasn't filled it's almost June 2024, still no answer for it We lost the case, my sister is in jeopardy both physically and mentally. He gave me a few thousand dollars back as if that would make things better. My entire family lost faith in the justice system. Blood is on his hands. hope his misconduct gets him in trouble with the bar association. They have all the information, just waiting for a response. Do not let him sell you a pipe dream. Please research other attorneys in the field.
