Hired Attorney Ms. Jennifer Fincher

I had an overall bad experience with this attorney regarding estate planning concerns. I contacted her law firm for a consultation, but she charged $100 for an initial consult, which is quite high for a small-town attorney who primarily handles real estate. Typically, fees like this are more common for criminal defense attorneys specializing in trial law, not for an administrative attorney who primarily does paperwork. The experience worsened when she sent me documents to fill out regarding my estate holdings. I had a detailed question and emailed her for clarification. She never responded. When I followed up, she became upset and deflected blame onto her employee, claiming she had just received the email—seven days after I originally sent it. Avoid this attorney. Her work ethic is clearly lacking, and her responsiveness is unreliable.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
