Melissa Barrett earned dual degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Ball State University, where she was also a member of the Criminal Justice Honor Society. After graduation, she moved to Georgia to be closer to family and began her legal education at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Shortly after starting law school, Melissa’s life took a dramatic turn when her husband and two children were involved in a severe car accident, leaving her daughter critically injured. This experience deeply influenced her perspective on the legal profession, as she played a crucial role in assisting with her daughter's multi-million dollar personal injury lawsuit against a major automobile manufacturer.
This challenging time taught Melissa the vital role an attorney plays in supporting clients through some of life’s most difficult moments. She approaches her work with the same dedication and care she would for her own family. As a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia, Melissa is licensed to practice in the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, as well as in Georgia Superior, State, and Magistrate Courts. Her practice focuses on Probate, Family Law, and General Civil Litigation, where she serves as a zealous advocate for her clients.
