Hired Attorney

I met with several lawyers before my initial consultation with Chris Malinowski but was impressed with him and the organization of his firm. Before the appointment, Greg sent me forms, and Chris had read them before we met and was already familiar with the situation and had a game plan. They provided a folder with information and guidelines to follow (i.e., social media, deadlines on documentation, how to fill out the documents, what to gather, etc.) My ex-husband retained an aggressive lawyer (a young Better Call Saul type) who was pushy from the beginning, and Chris was professional but firm in all his responses. Chris has an aggressive style but is tactful in communicating with opposing counsel. His approach was perfect in court for handling someone like my ex-husband (narcissistic traits)- confident demeanor (calm but intimating), the presentation of the questions, and pointing out the inconsistencies in their responses.

of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Mr. Malinowski has been recognized in the "Top Divorce Lawyers" edition of the Northern Virginia Magazine through a peer nomination process, and has also been recognized as a "Rising Star" in Virginia Super Lawyers. He has served as an elected member of the Board of Governors of the Fairfax Bar Association's Family Law Section, and also has served on a number of bar association committees. Mr. Malinowski co-authored the Negotiating and Drafting Marital Agreements Handbook for Virginia Continuing Legal Education (CLE), and has lectured on this and other subjects such as custody, expert witnesses, and paralegal training at various CLE seminars throughout Virginia. Mr. Malinowski's practice has been devoted exclusively to family law. He manages the Firm's litigation practice and has successfully tried numerous complex equitable distribution, custody, spousal and child support cases, and prepared a variety of marital agreements, as well as government, military and private sector pension orders. Mr. Malinowski received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he was an assistant editor of the law review and from where he graduated cum laude. Mr. Malinowski resides in Fairfax with his wife and their sons.
