About Mr. Jim L Edmunson

Jim’s practice is workers’ compensation. Jim was born in Eugene, the 6th generation of an Oregon Trail pioneer family in Lane County. He graduated in 1974 from Oregon State University in journalism and in 1983 from the University of Oregon School of Law. Jim worked as a daily newspaper journalist in Oregon in the 1970s. After beginning his legal practice, he represented Eugene in the Oregon Legislature from 1987 to 1995. He then chaired the Democratic Party of Oregon from 1999 to 2007. He is married and the proud father of two daughters and grandfather to a grandchild. He enjoys gardening, camping, bicycling and golfing.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
