Answered by attorney Neil J Lehto (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Neil J. Lehto
An escrow for property taxes and insurance is a part of many mortgages that lenders may waive. They are generally willing to do so if the balance due is more than 10-20 percent of the purchase price. If you've been timely making payments, ask the lender to waive the escrow requirement.

You need to contact local firms and ask them. Rates vary depending on where you are and even in locales, so your best bet is to get a few referrals from the bar association and talk with the attorneys.
