What can I do if my stepmom refused to give me any information about my dad's will?

Answered by attorney Dara J. Goldsmith

If assets were held jointly they pass to her, not pursuant to a Will. Thus if the home was held as a joint tenancy with him and your step mom, she inherited it by operation of law when he died. If he had a Will it should be lodged a the District courthouse in the county where he died in Nevada. You can order a copy from there. This information is only intended to give general information in response to an inquiry. It does not establish an attorney client relationship. This response is only based upon the limited facts presented and is merely intended to assist you in determining if you should contact an attorney to provide you with legal advice.
