How do I get money from my mother's account if I am the beneficiary?

Answered by attorney Dara J. Goldsmith
Estate Planning lawyer at Goldsmith & Guymon, P.C.
If you are the named beneficiary on an account, like a pay of death account, you simply present a certified death certificate to the holder of the account, i.e. bank. If that is all that is at issue, you do not need an attorney. If you hit a snag, you may wish to consult counsel.

Can creditors collect after your death? Must a will be probated? Can I do it with a lawyer?

Yes, creditors can collect after a person's death(this is the simple answer). A will needs to be probated to give effect to it's terms. You should have your will prepared by an attorney.

You haven't given enough information for a detailed answer. However, go to the DMV, tell them the facts and ask how you can get the Title to the car in your name.
