My grandfather was a miller from the miller brewery and he ran away from home many years ago, are his heirs entitled to the estate?

Answered by attorney Norman Harry Green (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP
If your grandfather owned anything at his date of death and had no will, it passes to his heirs. Dead people do not inherit. So, if you are asking if you are entitled to inherit from someone other than your grandfather, it would depend on when and where they died, whether they had a will, etc.

Can I use the estate for my minor child?

Answered by attorney Brian Haggerty (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Minor, Bandonis & Haggerty P.C.
Is this your natural child? If so, you have a duty of support (food, shelter, clothing) and you can't use the child's money on things you should be providing as a parent. You can use the child's money for special educational opportunities, but you should budget carefully, make sure that money is available for college.

Is there any legal way while his sister is still alive for my husband to gain full ownership if she can’t afford to pay for anything towards the home?

Answered by attorney James P Frederick (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Frederick & Frederick Attorneys at Law
It all depends on how they hold title. If it is as tenants in common, then his sister's share would pass through her estate. If it is held as joint tenants with rights of survivorship, then the last person standing would be the owner.
