When you become an administrator of an estate, how do you know your duties?

Answered by attorney Ronald Lloyd Anderson (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Howes & Anderson, P.C.
Your duties are set by the Code of Iowa and your attorney should be able to discuss these with you. If you have any questions you should contact your attorney before acting because some actions may require Court approval. The Court will ultimately set your fee. However your attorney should be able to give you an idea about the likely amount that you can expect to receive.

If one heir out of 6 refuses to sign for a house to be sold, is there a way the others can sell it without that signature?

Estate Planning lawyer at James G. Maguire
All of the heirs must sign. The only way to get around a deadlock like this is to have the succession representative sell the house.

Answered by attorney Christine James

Immediately call a Texas attorney and see if you can file for probate. That will force the will out if there is one. This type of forum is too slow to get you the answers you need, and you need them now. Don't wait any longer on this, call a Texas attorney today.
