I used this firm to take care of some old credit card debt. They settled the cases and I paid them out. Later I received 1099-C's from the creditors and I now have to pay tax on the amount of the "forgiven debt". Not all of the debt was legitimate, but I now have to pay tax on it all as earnings. I really wish the law firm would've given me a heads up on that. Other than that they did a good job representing me.
