Ryan Hemminger is an experienced litigator and civil trial lawyer and has handled a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters for businesses and individuals across a range of industries. Ryan serves as Midwest Chair of the Construction Practice Group.
Over the course of his career, Ryan has successfully litigated many types of complex commercial cases. He has a vast amount of experience with corporate litigation matters, including breach of contract, fraud, negligence, and declaratory judgment issues. He is regularly involved in employment litigation matters, including discrimination defense claims and non-compete agreements. Ryan also handles bankruptcy-related legal matters including chapter 7 litigation, adversary proceedings, and preference actions. In addition, he has experience representing general and sub-contractors in construction litigation matters involving mechanics’ liens, construction defects, and contract/payment disputes.
Ryan’s practice also involves estate litigation, with a focus on orphan’s court litigation. His diverse commercial litigation portfolio includes involvement in intellectual property litigation such as trademark infringement and trade secret matters, insurance coverage litigation involving errors/omissions, and breach of fiduciary duty and civil rights cases involving first amendment retaliation.
Ryan’s background includes significant experience in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels. He has argued before the Third and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Federal District Courts in Pennsylvania and Texas, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and the Court of Common Pleas in Allegheny County.
Prior to joining Leech Tishman, Ryan served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Ralph J. Cappy and Judge Maureen Lally-Green of the PA Superior Court.
