Richard M. Renkin is a Certified Family Law Specialist. He received his certification from the California Board of Legal Specialization in 2005.

The certification process ensures that only the lawyers who have significant experience and intimate knowledge of California family law become recognized by the Board. In order to become a Certified Family Law Specialist, a lawyer must: (i) demonstrate significant, recent experience in the field of family law, (ii) satisfy intensive educational requirements (beyond law school, (iii) pass a written exam, (iv) receive favorable recommendations from his or her peers in the legal community, and (v) successfully represent himself or herself in front of a panel of family law experts.

No one ever wants to be in a situation where you need a lawyer, but unfortunately for some, it happens. Thankfully I was referred to Mr. Renkin and his team. Mr. Renkin is an incredible attorney. He is professional and will be honest with you from start to finish. My personal situation has been very difficult, but knowing I had Mr. Renkin and his team in my corner helped instill confidence to get me through the battle.

The case was in California and we live in Michigan. The law firm was expensive, but accomplished what we needed even with us being so far away.

Hired Attorney Richard M Renkin, Esq., CFLS

He charged me $20K and did not even complete the case. He kept wanting more and more money. He was bleeding me dry. I finally had to fire him. His draft of my settlement was so incompetent that I now have to hire another lawyer to redo the whole thing, not to mention my rights which he lost. I did much of the research work myself yet was still billed $250 hourly. I should report him to the Bar for unscrupulous business practices. He completely botched my divorce and charged me a fortune.

This review has to be a fake. I 2011 my billing rate was not $250 an hour. My clients may do some research on the internet but I it would be malpractice to rely on that research alone. Posts happen for unethical reason sometimes.

Hired Attorney Richard M Renkin, Esq., CFLS

All Talk, No Action I hired Renkin/Ben Yip to represent me in division of assets and custody. They had my trial brief for THREE months and did absolutely NOTHING. Horrible Advice Ben Yip told me to sign a stip saying we’d go to trial five weeks later even though we didn’t have the other party’s final declarations. Ben hadn’t looked at my declarations/exhibits, nor did he hire an accountant like he said was so urgent. Lack of Professionalism Ben Yip called to lecture me before he even heard my side of the story. He’s quite arrogant & lazy. Can’t Follow Simple Outline Even though I provided Renkin/Ben Yip with a simple three-point outline for an ex parte, he failed to present half the content. I had to gain the judge’s attention to address the missing points. Failed to Follow Fee Agreement This firm provided me no notice that Renkin/Ben Yip’s worthless services increased $75/hr. Instead, I learn on my billing statement. Provided Incorrect Sub. of Atty Form Ben gave wrong SOA.
