Neaves & Gillespie, P.A. traces its beginnings to Charles M. Neaves, Sr. (1920-1983) who began practicing law in Elkin, North Carolina in 1948, and who was, during his career, a District Attorney and Superior Court Judge. James D. Gillespie joined the firm in 1980 upon graduation from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. Regina R. Gillespie graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1993 and opened her own firm in 1995. James and Regina married in 1998 and in 2006 they merged their respective firms into Neaves & Gillespie, P.A.

In 2011 Erik R. Ashman of Elkin, North Carolina joined the firm as an associate attorney, practicing out of the Elkin office.

Serving Northwest North Carolina since 1980, Neaves & Gillespie has expanded its ability to provide quality representation by maintaining offices in Elkin, Dobson and Sparta.

Regina is a well established attorney. What does that mean? That she will know how to handle your case quickly and efficiently, saving you legal fees in the long run. Regina is a fighter and that shows she cares about her clients and the outcome. Regina’s fees are reasonable and you can trust that she will not price gauge you. Also, I am a NC certified paralegal who has retained her for my personal family law needs. That means I have a vast knowledge of the local attorneys, and I chose Regina.

I had gotten and paid for a speeding ticket November of last year for going 79 in a 65 on Highway 52. I did know the effect the ticket would have on my insurance and the points I would have on my driving record. My insurance went up 40% and I had 4 points awarded. I hired James Gillespie and he successfully had my violation reduced to improper equipment. The points have been removed from my driving record and I will now save thousands on my insurance over the next 3 years. I only ever spoke to Cindy, his legal secretary during the entire process. She did a great job of keeping me informed along the way. Thank you to both! Great job!

Hired Attorney Regina Robinson Gillespie

3 years ago my husband and I started the journey of making a custody change for our son. His mom had primary physical custody and they shared legal. It was a very long, hard, emotional journey but Regina supported us and fought for our son the ENTIRE time. He would not be with us if it hadn’t been for Regina. Our journey isn’t completely over and we still rely and depend on Regina. Regina is loyal, honest to a fault, stands firm in what she believes in, encouraging yet realistic and truly cares.

Hired Attorney Regina Robinson Gillespie

I got a 17 mph over traffic ticket on I-74 in NC, I had to come back on the court date. I hired Regina for my case so that I didn't need to come back for the court. After I provided all information including my driving record, she told me she was able to help me get 9 over, the best result would be 5 over. The final result she helped me to receive is a reduction to improper equipment (a non moving violation). Given the 17 over I didn't expect any of the DAs would grant that. Thank you, Regina!

During a span of 14 months I had only 2-3 phone contacts about my case and two in-person discussions with my attorney. My emails to the attorney (2) were never responded to and lack of timely response to my letter communications left me feeling my case was of little importance.
