He attended Santa Clara University, where he earned a B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in Spanish, before returning to Los Angeles to attend Southwestern Law School on a merit-based scholarship. Along the way, Tom served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, where he worked in an after-school tutoring program in Watts.

Tom spends his free time enjoying life with his wife and young daughters.
