He coached High School Mock Trial at El Reno high school for almost 20 years and won a State Championship in 1991. He was twice awarded the Lamplighter Award by the El Reno Education Association.
He has been married to Dianne (Strasner) Handley for 36 years. They have two sons. Ashton Handley is a US Navy veteran of the Persian Gulf War, a 2004 graduate of Loyola University, New Orleans, and a 2008 graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law. Ashton also practices law at The Handley Law Center. Alex Handley is a lieutenant in the US Navy Ready Reserve, a 2004 Graduate of the University of Southern California, and currently works in the television industry in Manhattan Beach, California in the production department of 90210.
