Bill D. Hicks brings more than 25 years of distinguished legal experience to his role at The Law Offices of Bill D. Hicks P.C. After earning his law degree from Texas Tech in 1997, he began practice in the Texas Hill Country before joining the 34th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in El Paso. Over 12 years as an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Hicks prosecuted a broad range of cases and served as Special Prosecutor and Trial Team Chief. He was cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney prosecuting federal cases from 2003–2008. In 2010, Mr. Hicks was appointed as State District Judge for the 243rd District Court, presiding over significant criminal and civil trials.
Returning to private practice, he later merged his firm with others and focused on litigation, mediation, and arbitration. Twice called into public service, he was appointed District Attorney for the 34th Judicial District in 2022, where he led key reforms and restored public confidence. Now back in private practice, Mr. Hicks focuses on civil litigation and injury cases, serving as a committed advocate for his clients. He is deeply involved in civic organizations and has been recognized among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers nationally.
