Snyder & Associates LLP is a law firm with an office in Edmonton, AB. At this office location, there are 12 lawyers practicing international commercial law, administrative law, banking law and 22 other areas of law.
I had visited a few law firms regarding a family issue that had lingered for years and needed to be dealt. Most lawyers had quoted a price that was way off what I could afford. I visited Snyder and Associates and was immediately put at ease. Communication with the lawyers was easy, their approach to my issue was handled with professionalism both on phone and in person. My issue was handled way quicker than I had anticipated and well within my budget. I was overall very happy and pleased with Snyder and Associates and has recommended this firm to people I know. I give them a 5 star for overall performance.
We first met Chad when our first lawyer quit the firm and we were dropped on to Chad’s already busy case load. That was for my Adoption of my step children. He and his assistant made it happen very quickly despite the complication. Such as all three of the children had different fathers that had no or little contact in the last 10 years and parental rights had to be legally placed first. Then he handled two real estate deals for us with flawless agreements.
Overall the service was adequate. We did notice however a dramatic drop in the level of communication--ie, almost none--we received when we needed to relocate to another city. I am most concerned with our billing. At my initial consultation I was quoted a certain "package" amount which was different from the amount we were billed at the end. There was no acknowledgment of this from Snyder and now I find myself forwarded to the collections department. I am very disappointed.
Chad is a liar. He does not know finances nor the practice of injury law. Stay away. Charges premium rates yet delivers low service. Always is seeking partners for advice. We ended up paying for damages due to his negligence and lack of detail.
I retained Mr. Rami Johal on July 10, 2025, to represent me in a case that was in mediation. He scheduled a call for July 31 to discuss the case, but just before the scheduled time, he postponed it to 11:30 PM — despite having a 12:30 PM call with the opposing lawyer the same day. When we finally spoke, the conversation lasted about 25 minutes and was extremely unprofessional. Mr. Johal repeatedly interrupted me while I was answering his questions, snapping, "I’m asking the questions. I don’t have time to waste. I know what to ask you. Just answer them." I found this rude and dismissive, especially in such a sensitive legal matter. Later that same day, he left a voicemail saying the call went "very well" and that he needed to speak further. Since then, however, he has completely disappeared — ignoring every phone call and email without any explanation. It feels like the case has been abandoned entirely. I am now left in a difficult and uncertain position,
Stephen C. Snyder continues to destroy our association, The Sierra Leone Association of Alberta( SLAA) he claims to be the Association Lawyer which is a very big lie and very misleading. The association has never hired a lawyer. He is a friend to few of the people that has been misusing the community funds. Just few weeks ago Stephen C. Snyder put a lien on the association ( SLAA) for over $70 thousand dollars claiming that the association owed him money. This act is fraudulent because the association never asked Stephen C. Snyder to represent any member of association in court. There is a litigation going on between the now president and the ex president and his executive. The court order states that, both parties should be responsible for lawyer fees. Stephen C. Snyder arranged with his friend who is the ex- president to scam the association by claiming that he is the association lawyer. Do not do business with this firm or they will scam you big time.
What impressed me most about Sam was his lack of awareness - both self & of estate litigation. The law & the truth were on our side, the respondents had neither. Yet my opponents' lawyer was able to muddy the waters & successfully sold their narrative at the preliminary hearing. Instead of calling out my opponents on their argumentative fallacies Sam indulged them. After eight months, I took over the case & appealed to the respondents' sense of justice. I settled & then fired Sam. Waiting on probate now.
Calls and case ignored,going on 14 years.No effort put in to a case that is open and closed.
