Hired Dave for a simple task of responding to a child support/custody petition. Thought he'd be a caring individual had years of experience that would be able to help me. Gave him $1600 upfront he had weeks to prepare the response & I provided him the information needed. Other partys attorney refused to allow an extension previously. Had to continuously remind him that the due date was coming, asking him if he thought he could respond said I think so. Day came that it was due I didn't hear from him if I wasnt being proactive time would of just passed there would of been a default & he never would of told me himself that he was just going to choose not to respond. Contacted other partys attorney telling them that I would no longer be having Dave as my attorney because I had no faith that he could competently do what I hired him to do. In professional emails to other partys attorney would never get my name write. Said he'd return a portion of my retainer, he never did, and wont respond.
