After practicing law for twenty years with a concentration in representing individuals in civil, criminal and family disputes, Bob began a mediation practice and has handled a variety of disputes in over a thousand cases. He has facilitated multi-party and complex cases but continues to enjoy two and three party personal injury, product liability and malpractice disputes. Bob’s mediation focus follows a twenty-year litigation practice most recently with the Durham firm of Maxwell, Freeman, and Beason in 1995. (Now Maxwell, Freeman and Bowman, PA.) Bob is a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law where he has taught Negotiation and Mediation since 1995. He regularly serves with René Ellis as primary co-trainer for the North Carolina Certification Mediation Training For Superior Court Mediation. He speaks frequently in the field at conferences and seminars. Bob graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1970 and from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1973.
