Can a DUI/DWI ever get taken off your record once it is put on there and what are your restrictions past that point?

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
DUI/DWI lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
It stays on the record forever. The limitations you have are that it may be used to enhance any future DWI/DUI offenses and that it will cause a problem for getting or keeping a concealed carry handgun license for five years.

Is it possible for my friends got charged with a DUI but I was the driver?

Answered by attorney Lucio Antonio Montes (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at The Montes Law Firm
Your friend needs to consult a criminal defense attorney. Of course they can not charge your friend for a DUI if you were the one driving at the time. It seems rather strange that your friend was charged. There has to be more to the story.

What do the abbreviations AETD and VIP stand for regarding a DUI conviction?

VIP is Victim's Impact Panel. This is a class that you would take, typically after sentencing. I do not recognize AEDT.
