Can they impound my car since I have never had a DWI and was not with my girlfriend at the time?

Yes, the vehicle may be impounded under those circumstances irrespective of who owns it. As long as you were not aware that she was driving while intoxicated, I do not see a basis for the vehicle to be forfeited.

What is my legal responsibility as a host for serving alcohol at a reception in New Jersey?

Edward J. Dimon

The devil is in the details. Are the people who are drinking the legal age ? If underage, there are significant liability issues. If not, the determination of liability is based upon the intoxication of the guest and your continuing to serve him/her after the clear intoxication. It is always better to urge on the side of caution and offer taxi service home. Ed dimon, esq.

What happens if the arresting police officers don't come to the DUI hearing? How many times can they reschedule?

Answered by attorney Terry Alan Nelson (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Nelson & Lawless
The arresting officer would have to appear at the court TRIAL, not other court hearings. It should not be continued if he fails to appear. At the DMV appeal hearing, the hearing office could continue the hearing at his discretion, as many times as he likes.
