Should I get an appellate attorney or not?

J Matthew Catchick

Winning a DUI appeal is very difficult, and quite costly (easily $5,000.00 plus). If the officer had a valid reason to stop you (i.e., you were driving in the middle of the street), and if the blood test or Breathalyzer were properly administered/maintained, you might be better off saving your money to hire an attorney to restore your driving privileges after your period of revocation has expired.

If DUI occurred in 1978, will it still show during an employment background check?

It depends upon how detailed the background investigation is; however, with the passage of 36 years, I doubt that it will be an issue provided you have had no such subsequent offenses.
