What happens if the arresting police officers don't come to the DUI hearing? How many times can they reschedule?

That is really up to the judge. Your lawyer should object to a request for a continuance if an arresting officer does not show up for trial. However, almost every judge will give at least one opportunity to either side, prosecution or defense, to continue a case. After one continuance then it gets dicey. A 2nd request may be allowed but it must be a pretty good reason and your attorney should certainly object and request a dismissal.

Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced criminal defense attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your case. He/she would then be in a better position to analyze your case and advise you of your options.

Hadndui in 2005. 10 yr suspension of license.

Key to having your license reinstated after a 10 year suspension is working closely with the state of New Jersey Department of motor vehicle. The department of motor vehicle will be able to tell you whether or not you have filled all of the requirements to have your license reinstated. There are procedural requirements which must be fulfilled. For example, you must go to IRDC classes. There are specific fines and surcharges which must be paid. The department of motor vehicle will be able to tell you if you have filled all of the requirements. The process is tedious and painstaking. If you become frustrated and need our help please call.
