Your attorney is giving you great advice. It takes a while for you to get in front of the judge if you report near the weekend. If your attorney is telling you this, he likely knows how much time it takes for you too get in front of that Judge. You should listen to your attorney. Good luck.

What can I do if I was arrested at a DUI checkpoint?

Cynthia Russell Henley

Yes, you need to hire a lawyer. DUI means that you are under 21 and had any amount of alcohol in your system while driving. There are repercussions to your driver's license in these situations so you definitely need a lawyer.

How can u help me

Richard Keith Oliver
Answered by attorney Richard Keith Oliver (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at The Law Office of Rick Oliver
The degree to which any attorney can help you depends on several factors. As an initial matter, the prosecutors first have to be able to prove you were guilty of the offenses. If not, a good lawyer might be able to get one or more of the charges dismissed. If they can prove all three, then it becomes a matter of negotating with the State, and discussing the risks associated with any potential proposed resolution, with you. Ultimately, you're the one driving the boat. Our job is to give you the best advice we can, and to point out the icebergs, so to speak. Feel free to call me with additional questions. Best, Rick
