Is it normal to be fired for a DUI?

If you are an employee at will the employer is not required by law to give you a reason to discharge you unless you are in a union or you have an employment contract or your employment is governed by an employee handbook. In those cases discharge from employment is governed by a union contract, an employment contract, or the employee handbook. Otherwise an employer can discharge you without any reason whatsoever. If you have further questions, feel free to call.

Does a DUI hurt my chances of getting citizenship?

Answered by attorney Eric M. Mark
DUI/DWI lawyer at The Law Office of Eric M. Mark
It does not prevent him from legalizing, but it will be considered and must be disclosed. The biggest problem you have is that he is here illegally now, and that is a very difficult obstacle to overcome. You need a lawyer to help you through that process if you want to succeed.

Can they impound my car since I have never had a DWI and was not with my girlfriend at the time?

Yes, they can impound it. In many states it is required. How long they keep it may depend upon certain factors like whether she was driving with or without your consent. You may want to speak with a local attorney.
