Is it normal to be fired for a DUI?

Leonard D. Harden
Answered by attorney Leonard D. Harden (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Harden Law Office
I don't know what is normal. I practice exclusively criminal defense, but remember from law school almost 18 years ago that employment is at will. This means that you can be let go for no reason at anytime, and that you can quit at any time. It is my opinion that the company probably was in a bind, used your services and then found someone that met the actual requirements of no DWI conviction. Sorry and good luck in your job search.

Is it still possible to get my Driving Under the Influence expunged if my fine went to collections?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
DUI/DWI lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Can only be expunged if the case was dismissed or not guilty. Paying a fine doesn't sound like that, so if it's a conviction, then can never be expunged.

Can i dispute having a ignition interlock device in my car for 2 years?

Edward J. Dimon
Answered by attorney Edward J. Dimon (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Edward J. Dimon
you should start with the prosecutor to see if he/she is of the opinion that the judge will change the interlock sentence. this would be the least expensive. if you are not successful, they you would have to appeal the the superior court in the county where the DUI conviction occurred. this would require a formal appeal and as such, would be more expensive. the appeal would cost $2500.  please let me know if we can help. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600
